Aquaterr Agricultural Automation System - Monitoring and Control


How it works:


A close loop wireless control system is designed to automatically keep reservoirs full, by using a remote radio control link from the tank to the pump. A float switch (level switch) at the tank enables a transmitter, when the tank is at a low level. The transmitter, turns on the pump, and when a full tank condition is sensed, it turns the pump off. System are available for tanks with or without AC Power. The Remote Pump Control System can also be used to control fertilyzer pumps, solar panels, and batteries are used when power is not available at the tank.

Any number of irrigation valves can be controlled by using a Commercial Irrigation Controller, a Valve Actuating Transmitter.

Several Flow Meters can also be monitored using Aquaterr's Wireless Flow Monitoring System, with a Flow Meter Compatible Irrigation Controller.





Aquaterr's series of radio transmitters and receivers allows a hands-off approach to irrigation control. Simply place the battery powered receivers in the field; connect two wires to your 9/12V DC latching solenoid valve, issue a command from the controller to the transmitter and the system is running.

The accompanying schematic rendering shows typical agricultural and landscape control systems.

The "wireless" system can operate across roads, valleys, and rivers. Aquaterr's unique radio design allows the system to operate around trees, hills, fences and buildings.

The transmitter is controlled by wiring its inputs to any irrigation clock whose outputs can provide AC or DC voltages.

The transmitter can be located anywhere within 5+ miles (8+ km) of the pole mounted receivers. The transmitter can control one or multiple receivers. The receivers have the ability to turn themselves off at a time you set after they have been turned on.

This failsafe feature allows Aquaterr's units to handle unforseen problems: such as power failures in automatic operation or forgetting to turn the receivers off in manual mode.

Additionally, the receivers are available as 1, 2, or 4 station valve actuators. This allows for a quick, easy, and affordable installation.

Interface to all commercial irrigation Controllers.

Simply connect the wires from the controller that now go to the Master Valve selenoid, to Aquaterr's local Unit, and connect the Flow Meter output wires from Aquaterr's local unit to the Controller's Flow Meter input. Once programmed, the local unit will communicate reliably, over any terrain, using non-line-of-site radio signals, with Aquaterr's Local, Flow Meter Monitor/ Master Valve Actuator Field unit.

The Field unit is contained in a 6 inch high jumbo valve box and cover, and is installed 3 inches above the terrain. The operating components are safely concealed in water tight enclosures, looking like a standar valve box, with a cover. This product qualifies for water conservation rebates, and can provide significant saving based on accurate, and efficient use of water for irrigation.

Aquaterr's wireless Monitoring and Control system does not require radio licensing. Several system can operate in close proximity, without interfering with each other.

The Aquaterr FM/MV system is designed to monitor flow meter sensors and control master valves remotely, using a non-line-of-site communication link from the field unit to a smart irrigation controller, located half a mile away from the flow meter and the master valve. The field unit has a self contained antenna, and is installed just 3 inches above grade.

An optional external antenna is available for an extended one mile range. The unit is battery powered using ordinary alkaline D cells that need to be replaced every 2 years. The system provides flow meter pulses to the controller, and provides wireless master valve control from the controller.
